    Question Hazing

Post by Chris Tue Jan 29, 2013 1:01 am

Hazing is the practice of rituals and other activities involving harassment, abuse or humiliation used as a way of initiating a person into a group.

What do you think of hazing; do you consider it an important bonding experience for new members of a community?
    Have you been hazed?
Would you consider hazing another form of bullying?

I do consider it a form of bullying, some of the things they do during hazing are just plain abusive and humiliating. What community are you talking about that bonds with hazing experiences, certainly never one I have lived in?

In general: no, no and no. I understand why some people haze...but most people take it too far. Some harmless hazing isn't necessarily a bad thing.

    co-signs
And it is often dangerous resulting in injury or death - then everyone is surprised, shocked, and how could it happen. After that band member was beaten to death by his bandmates, you would think that colleges would really clamp down on any form of hazing. Greek frats do not need to exist as college affiliates.
