If you wear glasses, how long have you been wearing them for? Do you wear contacts? Why do you need glasses? How many pairs of glasses do you own, what do you like about them, what do you dislike about them?

Do you wear contacts? I used to but they became a general hassle and then my vision changed to the point where I can't see close up with my glasses (and I wasn't paying for bi-focal contacts).
Why do you need glasses? I'm nearsighted.
How many pairs of glasses do you own, One pair at a time
what do you like about them, I finally got the progressive lenses so I can see close up without taking them off but I still do if I have a lot to read. They're also the transition lenses that they darken in sunlight so I don't need separate sunglasses or clip-ons.
what do you dislike about them? That I have to wear them. Beats being blind though

Re: Glasses
I have been wearing glasses to read since 1985, when at work in a warehouse discovered I could not read a serial number on a compressor on the rack because I could not back far enuf away from it.
So, I got bifocals with the reading part prescription and the rest just glass. Coulda got those little half-glasses that my dad wore but ... my dad wore them, 'nuf said.
Then a few years later I needed to get prescription for distant seeing as that too was a little blurred. On my second upgrade and am really blind for close up without my glasses. Can't even read the letters on my keyboard without them.
I have a couple of pairs in my current prescription, one for work which is good for sitting at my desk and another with smaller frame that I carry when traveling.
I also have those drug store readers around the house. One is just perfect for working at my computer at home and watching the TV across the room at the same time.

Re: Glasses
I've been wearing them since I was 9, I don't wear contacts, I'm nearsighted, I have one regular pair and one prescription sun pair, and what I like about them is I can see and what I dislike is having to wear them.

Re: Glasses
Have them. Don't wear them often, which is why I have to have wall menus explained to me lol. I have to take them off to read a book or paper so they can be an annoyance to me. I'm near sighted w/astigmatism. Got 2 pairs.

Re: Glasses
Been wearing reading glasses since I was a preteen. My vision isn't horrible (although it's getting worse with age) so I don't need them to function. They just help when I'm trying to read small print. I have two pairs.

Speaking of which, how are your eyes doing these days?

Just about totally better. I have moments of blurriness, that's especially bad when I'm tired, but overall I'm healed. I actually have an eye checkup next Thursday.

I've had them prescribed since I was a kid, but started wearing them full time when I was about 17.
Do you wear contacts?
Nope.
Why do you need glasses?
I can't see far away. Let me rephrase that: I can't READ things from far away. I can see things far away (by squinting) but they might be a little blurry. I can recognize shapes of objects so I can go about my daily life without glasses if I choose too. I just like my vision clearer.
How many pairs of glasses do you own, what do you like about them, what do you dislike about them?
I have three pair...Dolce and Gabbana, Vogue and a free pair I got with my insurance. I don't dislike my glasses.
