In your opinion, when a prosecutor succeeds in getting a guilty verdict and conviction for a defendant who later is discovered to be innocent, should their be any repercussions for them?

Should prosecutors face consequences when innocent people go to jail?

There definitely should for those prosecutors who manipulated, suppressed or otherwise witheld evidence that would have shown the perps innocence.
But a court of law is often a crap shoot. If it was a good faith presentation of evidence and the person was wrongfully convicted then the defense lawyer bears equal malfeasance with the prosecutor.

I want to say hell yeah because too many prosecutors go after people just to fill a quota and get a bullshit conviction for numbers....but you really can't hold them liable unless they do it illegally. And if there was malice involved, fuhgedaboutit.

Yeah I think there needs to be stiff penalties for prosecutorial misconduct. And for some of the bullshit the police pull too. But not just for being wrong.

There's being wrong, and then there's being wrong and knowing it and going ahead anyway, and then there are also making cases against people there are no cases for, and the people who pursue these, especially hell yes I say throw the book at them.
