They are pretty talented. Was the part true about the street with all the store fronts not being busy on Saturdays? That seemed odd.

Yes its true, that section is run by Orthodox Jews and all businesses are closed on saturdays, and they do not drive their cars, they walk to synagogue. This is a religious observance every saturday.
