| Does having more children increases the odds of better parenting? Do you think parenting skills are (or can be) heightened by the number of children said parent has? | |

| I think it's true that with each new child you learn from the mistakes you made with the last one, but I wouldn't put it into definite numbers. | |

| More or fewer children isn't a gaurantee for or against good parenting. Yes you can say that more experience (having many children) leads to better performance. But too many additional children can decrease the availabliity of resources for all. And I don't mean everyone doesn't get a Gameboy, etc. And I think very often, long before the time the first child reaches 18, the parents aren't applying the same enthusiasm to the newborn they just had as child #8. And some of the older children are acting as parents to their younger siblings. Well, they say an effective boss can delegate. | |

| I think it certainly can, yes. But I also think "the baby" of a family is sometimes a bit spoiled. | |

| each child is completely different... so u have to use different tactics for each.
my mother always said that you arent a true parent until you have at least three kids. With one, you know who broke the vase... with two, you are still able to separate the fights.. but with three.. you always have the third jumping in while your hands are busy with the other two. By the time you get to three.. you are already crazy, so four five and six doesnt matter

I am the baby of the family (of 7) and I may have gotten a tiny bit more than my older bros and sisters but my Mom still taught me that I had to work for things that I wanted. I am also the more responsible one in the family the others are beyond help in that area.

| Maybe, maybe not. I would imaging have a bunch of kids will definitely give you more patience, if you didn't have it already. | |
