| I think people should put their own interests before family honor and tradition. I think people should do what they want and hell with everybody else (including family) if they don't like it. I think people need to live for themselves and no one else. | |

| I think (in certain instances) it should be respected, but everyone was put on this planet to carve out their own niche in the world and to live their own life. That being said, I would reject any family expectations of you must do this or that with your life. | |

| Not really. I'll put the practical best interests of the family I have created first, but I don't believe in acting 'in line' with narrow family expectation. I wasn't put on this earth to exist solely as an extension of my family tree. | |

| No, not much. Here in the US we are not bound to retain family honor and culture if it doesn't work for us.
My parents were Old World Europeans who loved America and fiercely defended it, but they also tried to raise me by how things were done "there", and I resented it. | |
