I saw this movie last night for the first time and it was freaky. Also, I thought it was a bit short and had a rather abrupt ending. But it was interesting, however it also left a lot unanswered. Where did the kids come from? Why was Midwich picked over any other place? What were the kids waiting for?

It seems that the 50s and 60s had some kind of agenda of making little blonde kids terrifying to everybody, anybody else pick up on that?

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't this the movie that started all the "Children of the Corn" movies? I am almost positive I saw a re-make of Village of the Damned about 6 years ago?

And yes, they did remake it, several years ago I caught part of it on the Sci Fi channel, back when they still showed good stuff instead of all its crap.

I must have seen it then, I have a vague memory of it and that it was not that great.
