How often do you think about your own death?
    Daily, weekly, monthly, etc?

Hardly ever. I don't think about stuff like that and there's really no point. I live my life and that's all I can do.

Not nearly as much as I used to when I was 12 and 13. back then I thought about it all the time and always worried about it. These days I think about it now and then...not always seriously though...like last July when we went to the fair...I've had it engrained in my head my whole life about how dangerous the rides are and how people can die on them...so when I went, I took my pocket watch, I have 2 of them, one really expensive one, and a $10 one, I took the $10 one because I figured if one of the rides crashed or knocked us out of the car and I crashed to the ground, I didn't want to break my good watch in the fall.

That is so funny that you had that much of a thought process about fair rides! But I know what you mean. When they are set up just for the fair they are pretty freaky. The last fair we went to, my son and I really freaked out on a ride that looked pretty mild. I can't go on wild rides due to my neck being a mess, but this one looked ok. But we both thought we were going to fall out and die. We were screaming, "I love you" to each other most of the time.

Oh yeah, I hear that...first Ferris wheel I went on, it was in the back of somebody's pickup, so right away I'm thinking 'hmmmm', and that first time you don't know what to expect, first ones on they take you up and stop it...I went flying with my father when I was 9, and right after we took off the plane started to go down and I thought we'd crash, and the Ferris wheel of last year was scarier than that.

And this year, I went on the Spider for the first time, and the Trabant, both are about the same, both do the same things, both of which had me screaming 'oh my God!' the whole time and with my eyes shut because I could not stand to see how fast we were going AS we were spinning back and fourth and up and down all at once...I HATED those two rides, I HATED them...they also had the Zipper, which I wanted to go on but after those two, I said uh uh, and they had The Patriot, which is one of those pendulum out, back, out, back, upside down and stop rides, I did not go on that one either, but I think I will next year. I'm working on a theory that the rides they basically cage you in, are not as scary as the ones where you just have the belt and a little security bar to keep you from falling out.

My two girlfriends and I did Six Flags over Ga many years ago and it was nuts. We decided to do the bungee jumping thing they had. As we were being lifted up, all the young adults running the thing were joking around and flirting with each other. My one friend and I insisted we be let down, but the other friend just said to shut up and we had fun and lived to tell the tale!

A few times a month maybe. When I think about the future and getting old, thoughts of death and dying spring up too.

@Supernova: Don't worry, I am the same way about fair rides. It's the writer's mind in us.

I probably am constantly thinking about my death, probably cause I am a writer. I've gotten a good 3 novels out of this actually. xD

Its not that I really sit around thinking about it but I reralize that I have far fewer years ahead than I do behind me. When I do think about death I don't really care all that much...everybody dies. I've had a lot of good healthy years packed with life, excitement and adventures. When the time comes then there it is...I damn sure don't won't be laying around whining about what I wished I had done cause I've followed a lot of my dreams. I still have plans and dreams and if I get time and money I'll fill some more of them. I'm done stuff throughout life with my kids that will form the memories they can carry forward. Currently my sons and I are building a large stone wall on the farm. I'm gettin all of them to help in the project. I'm not saying to them "this is my monument" but it will be one thing of many that we have all done together. We've taken trips, planted trees, built buildings around the place, worked and played together through out life. What else can you do?

I don't think so much about death as I do old age and who's gonna take care of me when I start needing assistance. I have brothers & sisters, but I'm not close to many of them and plus my goal is to move out of state, so I'll be away from immediate family. That's what I worry about and since I'm gay there is a higher likelihood that I may not have children/grandchildren. Thats what I ponder. Being 80 yrs old and having nobody.

Well Robbie, I'm Gay and have 7 sons, all adopted, and a herd of grandkids. So old Gay men don't have to be alone in life...just depends on the choices you make. So far, at 65, the gettin old stuff is OK.
