Some of her movies are decent, I can't say anything bad about her as an actress. But as a recording artist, I see her as being about only a step and a half higher than Eddie Murphy. Her voice is just flat.

If you're into dance music, you should like it pretty well. Although Pitbull's presence does it no favors, IMO.
Opinions?

Took me a minute to warm up to it but by the end i was liking it. Not great but pretty ok. I heard this song was originally for Nicole Scherzinger.

Sounds like another generic rehash of everything currently popular right now; Jennifer Lopez just goes wherever the trend is. If dance/pop is popular, she's there…if R&B is popular, she's there…if Hip Hop is popular, she's there. I know that she has never been particularly deep, and therefore wouldn't think "outside the box," but God Lord in Heaven; I am so tired of turning on the radio and hearing non-stop follow the leader. Everyone is so bent on getting a seat at the Gaga/Brit/Rihanna/Katy (while they themselves jock each other) table that it's all this interchangeable thump-thump, with sterile synths, corny dub stop elements and atrocious auto-tuner. Will someone (station programming managers, especially) please look to something else in 2011?

The funny thing about JLo's cover is that it painfully reminds you of how thin and repetitious the lyrics are.

Mariska Veres cool vocals shine on the Shocking Blue original and PWL's production made the Bananarama version fun. There is nothing that stands out about JLO's version. I think the overall production sound lazy. No ummph. JMO.

Wait for the remixes they are usually better.

Agreed. A remix is needed and hopefully it's not to circuity and over the top.

Subject: Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony splitsville ? Wed Jan 26, 2011 6:46 am
There's a celebrity blind item circulating that JLo and Marc Anthony's marriage is on thin ice.
Bonus Blind Vice: The Sad Tale of Strippa Rip-Ya
It's a horrible, unforgivable crime when a man hits a woman. But a tragedy that's perhaps even harder to swallow is why a woman sticks around after she's used like a punching bag. That's the horrific scene Strippa Rip-Ya—a woman who usually tells the dudes right where to get off—is now finding herself in.
Makes some amount of sense, sadly, because something's keeping that woman from being the ol' reliable show-stopper that once made her a controversial household word. Rip-Ya just doesn't shock and entertain quite as electrically as she used to.
And another problem is...
Strippa's friends are too afraid to tell her she should ditch her no-good man, pronto! They think she won't like hearing it (and also won't like finding out how many of her amigas are hip to the crap that's going down).
Jeez! We say go ahead and risk the fact that Strippa just may not like receiving that message, tough! Chance the damn friendship to save her soul (and possible life), we say. We also suggest Ms. R-Y heed this advice right around the same time she calls the cops.
But so far, Strippa's told the couple of friends she's discussed her domestic abuse with that it's "not that bad." And that he just "pushes me around once in awhile."
Two things: Strippa's pals suspect she is covering up, greatly, for how much abuse the talented performer really is having to endure. And they think it will only get worse.
They are correct. Get help now, Strippa. Please, we beg of you.
And It Ain't: Diane Lane, Beyoncé, Brooke Mueller
Update 12/3/10 - Ted has also eliminated Kelly Ripa, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears.
Clues: 8/13 - Ted says that SRY's husband is a celebrity, but does NOT have a BV nickname. 8/18 - Ted has given the husband a nickname - Caesar Anchovy-Arse. 12/3 - Ted says that SRY is a pop diva.
Not that I advocate someone enduring domestic violence, but they say you reap what you sow. They also say that Jennifer Lopez has a reputation for being or having been one of the meanest, nastiest, most self serving celebrities Hollywood ever saw.

I don't really understand the purpose of the blog? They guess who may be the subject of tabloid rumors? Granted they probably get it right a small percentage of the time, I think it is rather silly for them to speculate.

Blind items are a way the gossip people keep from getting sued. The hints & clues are there but nothing definitive. So you have these nicknames & twists & turns in the column. And Ted Casablanca can make your head explode.

I never heard about any of that before. I know that the likes of OK mag and In Touch speculate a lot, but I never knew there was another genre of online gossip/tabloid journalism that hints and never names names.
