What DON'T You Miss About Your Childhood?

This is I guess a "counterpoint" to JB's thread about going back to being a kid. My question is, what are things from back then....personal or random....from when you were a kid that you don't miss at all?

Having to eat green beans
Having to go to bed early
Being stood in the corner
That long, curly, frizzy, unruly hair that pulls with every single brush and takes an hour to do

Basically having to answer to authority figures and abide by their rules.

Having to go to bed at 8:30. But that was only on the weekdays. Weekends I stayed up as late as I wanted.

What I don't miss is my parent's fighting. And having a mom who was sick that caused me to worry all the time. Take away those things and my youth was a cake walk.

Being repressed/suppressed by authority figures (parents.)

I don't miss having braces on my teeth but I'm glad I did.

Math class in school

Being over-protected and oppressed by a mentally ill mother. Still deal with anger to this day. But I have some good memories, too, even of her.

my mom was so depressed that we lived in a filthy house... no hot water where we boiled water on the stove to wash ourselves... the electrical outlets didnt work, and ran extension cords thru out the house. we didnt have central air so only one room ever got cool, and there are a heater in the floor of the living room--- that basically only heated that room. it was a very old drafty house---it still has gas pipes in the walls for gas lighting!

I don't miss all the dysfunction, beatings, and being locked in the cellar by my mother's first husband.

that sux... im sorry. my mom never beat us... but that is cause one of her step fathers locked her in the closet with a fur coat--then told her that it turns into a bear at night :O not cool.

in the end, he punched a cop when he was drunk.. and he "mysteriously" was found hanging in a jail cell. my mom swears the cops did it... says that he was too narcisstic and arrogant to commit suicide lol

Yep, but that which doesn't destroy you, makes you stronger. The stepdad used to beat both my mother and myself, and while I can only forgive in the sense of accepting all that happened and moving on from it, God will contend with that asshole on His terms. Jerk used to lock me in the cellar and tell me that the ghost of my dead great-grandfather lived down there. Sick fucker.
