I know you've probably never heard of it, not many have. I got her CD when I was a member of Columbia House, back in 1996. Back then they would send members random spotlight CDs they didn't order, and charge them, if the member didn't send in a notice saying that they weren't interested in next months selection. I didn't think to do it, and so it came. Very obscure, the album/singer wasn't a hit; although there were decent tracks on it.

Since you pulled out the gauntlet, I've got one and I'm going to give a hint. This person is a multi-talented actor and singer, who everyone should know. They are more famous for their acting, but they did release an album, which I thought was pretty good. Maybe someone here bought it too

No it wasn't released from the album, but it's on YouTube. I'll give another hint. This persons first song was somewhat of a hit on the R&B chart though I believe it crossed over. This person lived in a "college" town on a hit TV show, but then later on became an "angel of death" on another series that was made for cable.
