Who hates winter?

I hate winter, I have for years, and the list of reasons WHY I hate it just seems to be getting longer:

Cold weather
Ice
Snow
Pitch darkness at 5 P.M.
Grass, flowers and trees lose leaves, color, fade away, shrivel up and die until mid April the following year
Dry cracked skin
Nosebleeds
Static electricity
Always having to put on boots and coats and gloves just to step outside
Tracking in snow so the floors are wet
Wet socks that constantly need to be changed
Wet shoes that need to be put on the heater to dry out
Five layers of blankets and quilts on the bed
Black ice
Falling on the ice
Trying to breathe in the freezing air
The sun disappearing for days on end

I swear, if I ever win the lottery, I'm moving someplace where it's always warm, it doesn't get dark early, and I am staying there until the spring thaw. What's everybody else's take on winter?

I used to really despise it. Now, I accept it. But sure don't like it.

I am not overly fond of Winter, I hate the summer here because its always so hot and humid that I welcome the cool weather. I hate big snowstorms because of the clean up involved and I don't like when it goes down to 5 degrees and your freeze your butt off.

On the bright note of Winter, there is nothing more beautiful than a snowfall at night with the lights shining and making the snow sparkle. I can't imagine Christmas Eve at 90 degrees, a little snow just adds to the holiday season. Winter also clears out all the germs in the air and there is nothing like a breath of cold clean air.

Unfortunately even the winters have changed here now we get snow and heavy rain and hurricanes in March that they call Noreaster Storms. If you want really nice weather you have to move to a tropical Island (then you have to worry about hurricanes, tsunami's and earthquakes) or the California Desert where I like it. It stays warm there most of the year, gets a bit cooler in the winter but its beautiful.

I despise winter. It's something that you expect, but never get used to.

By far it's my least favorite season but I do enjoy the change. If only it lasted just a couple of weeks before and after Christmas.

I'll tolerate it as long as we don't get too many snowstorms. And actually like the snow, but I just don't like having to go out in it. Winter is just a season. It will pass. I appreciate living in a place where I can experience ALL four seasons.

True. But it gets dirty and that lasts. And lasts.

And the ice especially takes forever to melt, which is the worst part.

Hate may be a slightly strong description for my aversion to winter, but I will say that it is my least favorite season of the year. I strongly dislike it. The bundling up (gloves, boots, long underwear, thick arse winter coats)...the having to get up early so that I can let my car warm up so that I can scrape off the snow...road conditions...the shoveling...getting stuck in the snow (every winter I am guareenteed to wind up getting stuck at the end of my not always plowed street.)

Oh what the hell, yes...I do hate it. lol
Winter has its redeeming qualities, but its hassles outweigh them for me.

If I ever move out of state, it will be to somewhere that is warm year round.

I can tolerate it through the end of January. Would rather skip February and March.

Hmmm....maybe I don't hate winter as much as I thought now. :biggrin:

I think Michigan won the Worst Weather in the World award yesterday.

I kinda like winter personally. Bad weather conditions can make things a hassle, but at the same time there's something appealing about its drabness too. Can't put my finger on it but there's something about a gray Wednesday morning in mid February that has a strange allure.

I prefer winter to an especially hot summer.
