I taught myself how to type with both hands so I can go pretty quickly on the keyboard.

Both hands but I swear half the time I'm looking at the keyboard. After all these years.

I learned how to touch-type on a cordless typewriter (Joke for young ppl who have no clue of pre-digital world)
In fact, I don't know where the letters are on a keyboard and really have to search. But my fingers know (touch memory) and I type rather fast.

Both hands in the proper positions. I was a Hist. major and turning out 5 15-20 page essays twice a term - no time for one-finger typing. Got to the points where I didn't bother looking at the keyboard, as I needed to read and see what I was typing, or I had one eye on the screen and the other on a book - no time to look at the keyboard.

I basically taught myself how to type. I'm not proper with it, meaning that all my fingers don't go on the appropriate keys, but I can put away about seventy to eighty words a minute.

I basically taught myself how to type at home and then took a typing class so I could really polish it up. I type fast that is why I sometimes don't notice my mistakes LOL.

i learned in high school, freshman year.. from very first day of class my teacher had all the keys covered with black duct tape on the typewriter, and she would drill us on which fingers went to which key.. it was a good way to learn. (i thought)

So did I until 1995 when I got my first computer. Only I collected them to use. Here is the one I had when first starting writing in 1983. I think it was a Royal.(Oh!) I had a portable with built-in carrying case but the keys were too close and difficult to use. It was the 'laptop' of the day, only about the size and weight of half a dozen laptops.
