Breaking NewsSoap Icon Dies
Jacqueline Courtney (ex-Pat, OLTL et al) during her AW days
— NBC
Jacqueline Courtney
(ex-Pat, OLTL et al), best known to viewers as ANOTHER WORLD's
über-popular Alice, passed away on December 20 of metastatic melanoma.
"Any letter that she wrote to people recently ended with, 'Stay out of
the sun. Wear sunscreen,' " her daughter, Jennifer, tells Digest.
"She was very healthy her whole life and then suddenly everything just
started snowballing. She went really quickly. She had just turned 64,
so she was still pretty young." Jennifer reports that her beloved
mother still kept up with the goings-on in daytime. "She still read Soap Opera Weekly. She loved her Soap Opera Weekly!"

I hope the show acknowledges her character and death.
Here's a clip of her on OLTL back in 1976.

I am sure they won't, when Nancy Pinkerton (the first Dorian) passed earlier in the year, I watched every day for over 3 weeks to see if they had any words for her at the end of the show and they did not.

That still really annoys me how they snubbed/forgot about Nancy Pinkerton, who created the shows second longest running character, that still exists today (who long time OLTL fans all agree was phenomenal.) Yet they remembered to recognize Danny Aiello's son, who did behind the scenes stunt work for them.

It really is annoying not to honor an actress that had such an impact on the show especially during a few very compelling storylines that changed the course of the show. I was surprised when they did honor Clint Ritchie and Phil Carey, that would have really gotten me mad if they didn't.

I wondered if it was a matter of them feeling like the audience wouldn't know or recognize NP as Dorian, combined with the fact that Robin Strasser is so recognizable in the role, that the assumed it wasn't important. I don't know, but whatever the case, it was to their shame of them to not acknowledge Pinkerton.

That could be but out of respect for the ladie's fans that are around still and even her family, it would have been nice.

BTW, in this scene, they are naming Joey or Kevin? (Just read up on some history; I guess it's Kevin)
Hey Chris, you should honor JC by giving Pat Ashley a Notoriously Remembered Bio. I'd like to read about her character and nobody has an info on her. All I know about her is that her son was OLTL's "Big Child Death"(Each ABC soap has ONE) and that she romanced Tony. But that's about it.
It's weird seeing old Viki scenes.

For a long time I've been contemplating adding Tony Lord and Pat Ashley to the Notoriously Remembered section. I actually started on a bio for Tony, but never completed it. Despite how long they were on the show, there aren't a whole lot of heavy bios on these two characters on the Internet to draw from. When that happens, I have to basically try and draw from the yearly history synopsis, which takes longer, because I'm basically improvising a lot.

^^^^Ah okay! Well, good luck. I agree, info on those two is hard. Good luck with adding them to notoriously remembered tho.
