| Is our culture more or less promiscuous than it's ever been, or would you say that it's about the same? | |

| Compared with the late 60s and 70s I'd wager to say it's somewhere between same and tamer...but the BIG difference is people didn't use to advertise to the whole world what they were doing, today it's the #1 way for pathetic losers to get attention. | |

Just curious and I know you have good reason but how are people advertising what they are doing sexually today???

No, I actually saw the whole tape but that was one celebrity making a fool of herself and the few others that followed in her footsteps thinking that it was going to boost their already gone acting careers.

| Except that anymore, any idiot with a camera phone is capable of doing the same thing and a lot of them do for whatever idiotic reason they think posting it for the world to see is going to benefit them somehow when in reality nobody wants to see them. | |

| Yeah that's it. It's like Shelley Winters once said, "Sex is much more fun when you have to sneak around and cover it up". Today, the whole world knows what people do and who they're doing it with and where and when and all that other stuff we'd be better off guessing about. | |

And some of the things they do have in some instances even raised my eyebrow up a few inches! To each his own.

Just to be clear, by "promiscuous" are we talking about being characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, esp. having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis, rather than more or less sexual repressed? Not more promiscuous but more open. Oh hell yeah, more open. Thank (or blame) the Internet for that.

| If anything the internet has made so many people wannabe amateur porn stars and thus more exhibitionists, but in general I don't think society is any more or less promiscuous than it's been over the past 20 years. | |

Oh IDK. One of my pics I posted on an adult site got stolen and posted on an Arab site somewhere in the world. Someone saw it and sent me the link. Had their watermark on my foto.
I guess I should be flattered, but they coulda gave me cred for my pic

| I think society may actually be slightly....only slightly though....less promiscuous that it was when I was a teenager. I don't remember "virginity" being a fad with young people back then. | |

It is hard to quantify this. Like are there more cases of a certain disease or have we found a better way to diagnose that disease - showing that there always were more cases.
As I recall, we were more promiscuous in the '60s and '70s. We also did it in the road, but ppl watching us didn't have the ubiquitous cams we have today. So the Internet makes what we do more visible, but I don't think we do more now than we did then. In fact probably quite a bit less.

| I think our society really has become more promiscuous and there's never been more advertising of it like there is now. It seems like society is glamourizing promiscuity and that's not right. I think it's promoting promiscuity as the equivalent of sexual freedom, when, in reality, you can be sexually free and have only one sexual partner.

This sounds oxymoronic. You can be sexually free but here are your restrictions.
Polyamory is considered a sexual freedom as is having casual sex with a willing partner, then kissing them goodbye forever. Been there done that in the more sexually free days of my youth, and really enjoyed it immensely.
