e-mailed, instant messages can be annoying especially if your busy on your computer and not in the mood for idle chatter.

Re: Instant messages or Email?
It kind of depends on the person and what mood I'm in. Sometimes I'm in the mood to talk through an IM and other times not. The good thing with e-mail is it's not right away, if you don't want to talk, you can wait a couple of days to get back to the person.

Re: Instant messages or Email?
Instant messages make me feel like I'm being put on the spot, I'd rather be emailed so that I can ponder the response a little better.

Re: Instant messages or Email?
I haven't done the instant messaging thing since my days on AOL, almost ten years ago. I don't have any kind of IM setup now, and don't miss it. Just drop me a line in email or private message, and I'll respond.

It's comforting to know that it ain't a generational thing that I don't do IM. Looks like nobody really cares for a demanding medium.Supernova wrote:Email, I don't have IM.
I like e-mails. They just sit there quietly until I get to them and I can go away and come back when I have time and in the mood to communicate back.

I don't like IMs and never have, because they put you on the spot and can be inconvenient. There have been times when I left the room for a second and that annoying IM sound keeps on ringing. And if you don't answer every IM for IM, the other person gets bent out of shape about it and acts like you're ignoring them. Email me.
