I leave messages. That way it the ball is out of my court and it becomes their responsibility to follow up.

I HATE leaving messages. I only do so if it's to a students parent, a teacher/principal, or a really important message.
People know not to leave me messages because I NEVER answer them. I will only listen if I missed a call from someone uber important (like the principal of the school). Otherwise Ill just call the person back.
