I really enjoyed the movie and just looked at the Celine Dion video and think I will put the DVD in now. DiCaprio and Winslet were KIDS in that movie.
This thread was talking about the re-release in 3-D. I hope it doesn't happen and after all that bad press with Clash of the Titans in phony 3-D they may not do it.

I saw it when it was in the theater and I have a VHS copy of the movie, but never watched it again. It's too long.

Saw it when it was at the show with an ex-GF. It was good but so long that I never had any desire to sit through it again. I used to work at Blockbuster video back in '98 when I was 18....and I remember when that shit came out on video. The store actually opened early. They acted like it was Xmas and all day long it was Titanic...Titanic...Titanic. I had a friend at the time who worked at Target and he said that the biggest thing Lost Prevention would catch people stealing was that movie.

I was just watching it the other night. I want to see it in 3D. I wonder if Celine Dion's song My Heart will go On will re-enter the Billboard charts again.

I hated the song... which my best friend got married to--- I was like "do you realize that you are playing the song that represents a huge unsinkable ship sinking and 1500 people dying?" LOL she did not get the metaphor between her marriage and the titanic.
What bothered me was all the damn running... they run to the top of the ship, then she runs downward to get jack, then they run back to the top, then she jumps on a lower deck only to run back up again... i swear a half hour of running could have been taken out! LOL

I change my mind, I do wanna see this when it comes back to theaters... I remember seeing it 6 times in theaters first time around. And balled each time I seen it.

I have the DVD and watched it last year after reading this long old thread.
I have been watching the trailers in the theaters but have no interest in supporting the 3-D gimmick industry. Why would I want to see this movie in phony 3-D. Have they taken out the bugs that were in Clash of the Titans where closeup scenes looked like cardboard cutouts? This movie is full of closeup scenes.
Star Wars: Phantom Menace is coming to the big screen in 3-D. That I can see (but likely won't) because it has a lot of scenes that would work in depth. I have not gone to see the latest Underworld movie because they did not give a 2-D version of it. Will wait and get the DVD.
The 3-D gimmick is just a way to get more money out of a popular movie. I'll probably just stick the DVD in when it comes out and watch it at home.

I agree with you but it will give me an excuse to waste 32 bucks to see it again on the big screen.

No one see this, please.
If this makes big bucks, every single past blockbuster movie will be re-released in 3D.
Stop this madness before it startes.
I agree!
While I LOVE "Titanic",I don't love 3-D, and I view it as being forced to dole out more $ to see a movie.
I did pay to see the Harold & Khumar Christmas 3-D movie because I wanted to watch it during the holidays. But I found it more of a nuisance than a plus.
