    Scented Candles Empty Scented Candles

Post by Tony Marino Mon Jan 17, 2011 12:17 pm

Do you use scented candles? If so what are your favorite scents. Mine are:

Yankee Candle Autumn Leaves, this one scents up the whole house in less than an hour and smells really good. Others I like are:

    Jasmine
    Cinamon
    Christmas Tree
    Beach Boardwalk
    Honeysuckle

A few others, I find that Yankee Candles scent the best but they are really expensive, I always look to see when they are on sale.

I like them but would like them a lot more if they didn't burn straight down the middle.

OK, if no one else is going to bust Tony's chops as to what Candlews are, I won't either Wink . Yeah, my wife must own stock in Yankee Candles too. We've got them all over the house but only burn a few occasionally. Not counting the ones in the bathrooms of course. I think the candle toppers they sell are worth the money because they make the candle burn evenly instead of looking like a lava lamp.

I like jasmine and things that smell like desserts, but I don't usually use scented candles because I have little kids. I also don't use air fresheners because I read that women who use them are more likely to suffer from depression because of the chemicals in them, so I make my own with essential oils and spritz the air.

I LOVE Nag Champa incense though.

Funny you should ask. A couple of weeks ago I went to this craft show, and there was one vendor who was selling scented candles. I sniffed this yellowish colored candle, with blue chunks in it. It smelled EXACTLY like Sunday Morning Blueberry Pancakes. I would've eaten that candle if people weren't around. Smile

To answer the question, though, I have quite a few:

Sandalwood Rose by Bath & Body Works.
    Vanilla and Butter Rum.
    Witch's Brew.

I think my favorite is a Cranberry or Hazelnut scented candle.

I find the ones with the double wick burn better than the single ones but you are right, that is a bit annoying when they burn down the middle.

I don't really light candles in my house unless I'm trying to set the mood for something. To me, scented candles don't emit a strong enough fragrance that wafts into the room unless you light a whole lot of them at one time. I do love fragances but what I have are the Glade scented oil warmers plugged all around my apartment. Any room you enter, you'll smell different scent. I'll use that or the diffusion sticks. I get various fragrances. My favorites are lavander, french vanilla or any kind of tropical/citrus scent. I switch it up all the time.

NY, what brand of the diffusion sticks do you use? I only even had one type (got as a gift) that actually fragranced the air.

Don't have a particular brand. Actually, I never really paid attention to it. I'll go to West Elm, Pottery Barn or Bed, Bath & Beyoncd and get them. They also sell them at local drugstores like Duane Reade.

Usually the only time I correct a post is if something changes the meaning of what I meant to say. Leaving out a word can make a huge difference but other than that I don't worry about it.

I don't buy scented candles or incense or plug ins. I don't like artificial fragrances, many of them irritate my nose and throat.

I once house/dog sat for a friend and nearly died until I found all those plug ins and unplugged them.

I like them! Here are my fav cents:

    Jasmine
    Gardenia
Ocean Breeze (as long as it's not too strong)
    Strawberry Fields
    Peace Mango
    Green Tea and lemon

At Christmas, I like Christmas scents - Gingerbread, cinnamon, evergreen, and so on.

I'm sure there are others but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head
