| What do you think, is it offensive to refer to someone who is heavily religious as a "Jesus freak?" | |

No, if the sandal fits - wear it.
I think the term came up in the '60s when freak was a general term for many diff focus. We long-haired, pot smoking hippies were known as "freeks" or free spirits.
Then you had all the other "speed freaks" "nature freaks" and "Jesus freaks" etc. It wasn't offensive, just an identifier. | |

| Anyone can be insulted by anything if they let themselves. Sure, some people may intend it as an insult but some people embrace the term. | |

| Nope not at all. We also have Jews for Jesus here, they hang out in the subways and hand out pamphlets. | |

| I don't think it's offensive at all. That said, I know many use it as a term to insult or talk down about people dedicated to the Lord. | |

| *dc Talk song plays in head. lol Few terms that anybody could possibly call me could really offend me. (And even if it did, I don't go around acting like I have some right to not be offended like the PC babies do. lol) Jesus Freak isn't really offensive. Is it evidence of a double standard in that it often comes from people who profess to possess tolerant beliefs? I think so. (*cue the broken apart quotes that I'll never see. lol ) But hey, I don't care either. It's just another label used to distract. | |

| Depends on the context I guess. I can see how someone would see it as offensive, but in general, a "Jesus freak" is just that. | |
