Hi all,

I haven't seen this movie in what seems like ages, but I recently bought it off www.bn.com for only $7.49! I think this a great Hitchcock movie and I think Joan Fontaine is great in it. Not to mention the actress who played that maid (I can't remember her name), but she was also great in the movie.

Has anyone else seen this? Opinions?

The only Hitchcock film to win a best picture Oscar. Kind of hard to believe.

BTW, Mandy. What happened to Frank?!

I have not seen it, I should though, actually it's been on a list of mine of movies to see next for a while. I love most Hitchcock movies.

You've never seen it? I'm flabbergasted!

He's gotta move over for The Boss, at least temporarily! I'm sure Frank will be back up again sometime though - I'm sure he feels demoted now that he's not my avatar anymore sad news

Okay, so I just saw this movie...and I wasn't overly impressed with it, it's not one I'd care to see again anytime soon, but it was very interesting. And I was VERY surprised to find that Maxim didn't kill Rebecca, I was just waiting for that last minute, the other shoe to drop, but no, that didn't happen here, for which I'm glad.

On a side note, I don't know if anybody else who has seen this movie noticed this, probably nobody else has seen this movie, but about half an hour into it I started noticing that it reminded me VERY much of another mystery movie called Undercurrent with Katharine Hepburn and Robert Mitchum. That's also not a movie you'd want to see all the time but it is DEFINITELY worth a look, it's so funny because the storylines are not the same at all but watching Rebecca it was just like watching Katharine Hepburn and her husband in Undercurrent.
