    If your partner put on so much weight that you started not finding them physically attractive anymore, how would you deal with it? Would you implore that they diet, and if they didn't lose the weight would that be grounds enough for you to leave?

    I would politely ask that they lose weight and encourage them all the way. I don't think that is grounds for leaving unless they became grossly obese.

    I would be considerate, yet very clear, that their changing appearance was becoming an issue for me.

    ITA with Nhaiyel and Red. I'd offer to work with them to loose the weight - go for walks together, work on a healthier diet, and so on.
