| There are enough brands of toothpaste out there that it could take an entire year trying them all. It seems to me that the cost of toothpaste is rising almost like gas prices. Not counting the store brands, the ones I've known for years like Crest or Colgate seem to be at the top of the list in cost.
Here, Crest is anywhere from $6-$10. Same for Colgate. Don't get me started on those that target specific groups like Sensodyne, or all the whitening toothpastes for smokers and coffee drinkers.
What's your brand, and how much does it cost where you live?

| I use Colgate. I think it's about $4 or so? That's what I'm guessing, I can't remember off the top of my head. I think very expensive toothpastes, and expensive toothbrushes for that matter, are a waste of money. Just as long as my teeth aren't falling out, I'm happy. | |

| I always get my toothpaste on sale - refuse to pay full price. I use mainly Colgate or Crest but I also use Sensodyne, though I wait until I get a good sale or I get it at Costco. | |

| Colgate Total plus whitening...One thing that stuck with me from my years as a dental assistant is that it is the only toothpaste proven to prevent gum disease, and most people lose their teeth to gum disease rather than dental decay.
I'm so torn about the triclosan in it though. I don't buy antibacterial soaps and I feel like a hypocrite about it.

| Crest with baking soda/peroxide whitening, that three strip blue and white gel crap...$6 for a tube? Daaaaaaamn, I don't usually check the prices, I think at most we pay $4 for a tube, sometimes I get it from Dollar General where it's only $2, but you do have to watch it because I read some dollar stores sell brands but it's not approved by AMERICAN Dental Association, it's by CANADA Dental Association and supposedly there's something wrong with those tubes, but so far I haven't seen any of them. | |

I remember a while back there were some counterfeit tubes at the dollar tree I think, they were labeled as Crest but the sweetener in it was antifreeze which obviously isn't safe.

| I usually switch it up with the brands, but I prefer toothpaste as opposed to the gel. And I like ones with baking soda and peroxide. | |
