First of all, I'm not 'ignorant' of any of the things you claim I am. Funny how you come to that conclusion because I don't agree. The question that was asked was do you think promiscuity is wrong. I stated what I feel it is. I don't see the excitement in sleeping with any and everybody and here you come with some bullshit about it feels good and that's why people do it. That's totally and completely stupid. You don't have to open your legs to every Tom, Dick and Harry for sex to feel good. 'Sexual Revolution' of the 60's, 80's or whatever else you want to come up with is no excuse.
    I did not invent the Sexual Revolution or Free Luv, but I was an active participant with millions of other young ppl of the day. It came about in large part because of the dishonest, prudery of the 1950s in which we all grew up.

    How nice. You're crazy. I find it hilarious that you're assuming I'm sexually repressed or that I don't know any of this simply because I'm not a fan of being a slut. And quite frankly, the 'sexual revolution of the 60's and 70's' wasn't about that any damn way. It was about people who were being a lot more open about their sexuality and were more willing to talk about sex and not stifle their desires, which I will agree is a good thing, but that doesn't mean it was an excuse or should've been an excuse to jump in the sack with every person they see. Because quite frankly, it's been going on before the 60's.

    BTW, This was a controversial publication and Ralph Ginsberg got arrested for pornography with what is clearly not considered porn these days. What this picture series suggests was not only promiscuity but was against the law in over 15 states. The propriety or the racial segregation did not make sense to many young ppl of the '60s.

    I work at a hospital so I have a hard time separating promiscuity and STDs or accidental pregnancy. They go hand in hand and from what I see, people who sleep around SO MUCH that they can be called "promiscuous" are prone to slipup when it comes to being safe(r) with protection. Don't get me wrong, I am not "sex-negative" at all. I love being sexually active when I'm IN a relationship and the best part about that is that when someone is involved with one person, they think about protection more. When they go the supermarket or drug store, they never forget to pick up condoms or they don't forget to get their prescription for birth control refilled. When someone is single and sexually active, sex can happen at any time for them and they are more likely to be LESS prepared in the heat of the moment. So health wise I can't condone promiscuity. I've seen too many syphilis (sometime worse) cases at work.

    Beyond the health issue, I think people being promiscuous is also a reaction to a void in their lives that they're looking to fill. It's one thing to be single and to occasionally engage in some nookie, but people who troll for sex and on a regular basis play around with folks whose names they don't know are usually depressed and jaded.

    Maybe the fact that people find promiscuity easier is why it's looked down upon. It doesn't take any work or commitment to jump from one bed to the next, it's a cheap and lazy thrill. Also in the meantime most of the promiscuous people I have known will whine about being single or complain about their bad relationships. Maybe it's your fault and if you weren't such a hobag (since slutbag was already claimed), you would meet somebody decent, but you'd rather chase and take tail from anybody you can get it from. It's like eating fast food every day. Get a grip.
