But it probably did appear to outsiders that I did. I was in a relationship that I wasn't happy in, but I didn't want to hurt the person and I was a coward. I didn't want to own up to my own responsibility to him. So I started a relationship with a new person, got strength from THAT new relationship and courage, left my boyfriend and then shortly after that broke up with the new guy too.
I was terrified of conflict when I was younger and I regret handling it that way because I'm sure it hurt more than had I been able to break up with him the "right way". | |
