Did anybody see 20/20 last night? They profiled a woman from Michigan (she would be from around here) who suddenly gave birth, not knowing beforehand that she was even pregnant. To make it all the more weird, she had had three kids prior...so she experienced pregnancy before...and, her husband had had a vasectomy a few years earlier. But apparently, he was still able to get her pregnant with a baby boy she had no incling that she was carrying who, get this, upon delivery weighed 9 lbs.

Yeah. Only in Michigan.

I saw them advertising it but didn't see it. They have these shows on all the time on TLC or Discovery channel where the woman dosen't know she is pregnant. One show I saw she gave birth on the toilet, the baby fell right in and she had no clue she was pregnant. So I imagine when this woman's belly started swelling with a 9lb baby what did she think she accidently swallowed a watermelon in her sleep? Or maybe when the baby was kicking and moving did she thing the lobster she had for dinner was still alive? Give me a break.

I saw it last nite. Cute story/baby but every detail was farfetched and they came off like clueless bumpkins. How can she not know she had a 9 freaking pound baby in her? C'mon. In almost a years time she never went to the doctor for at least a check up?

Don't know the word to describe that kind of obliviousness. A fetus that eventually grows to nearly ten pounds should make an impression to anybody who isn't totally blind, numb or dumb.

A woman's body changes during pregnancy. If in nine months, this lady could not tell that she was pregnant, then I honestly have to wonder how well her other children were being taken care of.

I've never been preggers, but I can't imagine not knowing. I suppose it could happen, if a woman has irregular periods AND is heavier set, but still it is a bit unbelievable. Like Stavdash said, pregnancy brings forth all sorts unique hormonal and body changes. She was a little too blinded by her husbands failed vasectomy, I suppose.
