Imagine if school hrs changed from the usual 8-2 to 12-6 instead. Would this be more convenient for kids AND parents? I think so.

There would probably still be as many disadvantages as advantages for doing that. It would also depend a lot on if the teacher's union thought there was anything to be gained for it's members. When I was a freshman in H.S. I was on a split day schedule because the H.S. in our town was completed yet. Freshman and sophomores were bussed to another H.S. in the district in the afternoon. Seniors and juniors went in the morning basically because more of them had after school jobs. I don't remember the hours but when I wrestled in the winter, practice was in the morning when it was still dark and I didn't get home until it was dark. It wasn't like that when we moved into our own school the following year.

I don't think so. I think it's better the way it is. I know I prefered classes in the morning.

I imagine school administration having more of a problem with this than anything else.

Teenagers have different sleep needs, and I think they should go to school later in the day than little kids. The reason kids have after-school jobs is because...well...they're in school all day. They could have before-school jobs if they want to work.

No need, 8 hours of sleep is enough to keep them going.

^^^^They'd be better off in the woods than in school longer. They'd learn more. Going to school longer in order to make smarter kids is like eating larger meals to loose weight.

Sure they would, while they are tied to the trees they can bond with nature and the animals.

^^^^Better than sitting in a chair all day, building up fat, and hearing somebody ramble on with info they'll forget the hour after they spit it back for a test.

The problem with that is that my and my ex-wife's shift at work starts before 12, so getting them to school would be an issue. Otherwise, it would be a good idea.
