Re: Do you keep a journal?
No. I've thought about keeping a dream journal but that only occured to me when I was wide awake after the memory of the dream has faded.

Yeah, the last time I tried keeping a diary I think was when I was 10 years old and that's only because I got it as a birthday present, just isn't my stuff.

Re: Do you keep a journal?
Like Robbie, when I got my first computer as a teenager, I tried to do the Doogie Howser thing; keeping a journal on Microsoft works format, and saving them to a 3.5 floppy. Today computers don't have floppy drives anymore, so I can't pull up any of those old entries, but I haven't thrown them away.

I bought a floppy drive that plugs into my USB port if I ever want to see some of the old floppies I created.

I should do that, because I have a box full of old 3.5 disks from my high school and college years that I haven't been able to access in about a decade. I remember when I was in college, zip drives were the new fad that the serious PC-ers were investing in. I wanted one, but they were too expensive at the time. I wonder if people still use them.

Yeah I remember Zip drives, I never had one but I had friends that did and I think they had problems with them.

I don't keep any official diary where I feel compelled to make an entry every day. But I do write little blurbs of my daily life that strike me and print them out. I just put them in an electronic folder called Journal Entry. So, I guess I do keep a random journal.
Now when I travel, either around the country or on a cruise without a computer, I carry a composition book with me and often sit and write my random thots. I have a fresh one for my April travels.
It gives me something to do in the transit and often things come to you in the new environment that you want to preserve. I have done this each trip since the first with my grandson in 2004 and then used it for content on my vacation Webpages.

Re: Do you keep a journal?
I tried to keep a diary when I was younger. Think I wrote in it faithfully for about a week, then quit. Don't have any interest in doing that shit now. My dad does though. But he doesn't necessarily write down his feelings or whatever....he basically just writes down what he did for the day, events that happened that day, his plans for the next day, etc. And also, how much money he made that day, lol.

Re: Do you keep a journal?
Dear Diary:
If Billy McCalister doesn't ask me to the big Homecoming dance, I'm going to just die!
I tried to keep a journal on my computer years ago, but could never stay committed to keeping it updated.
My entries would look something like this:
January 2...January 3....January 4....January 5....March 19....March 27....July 10....September 3 (of the following year.)
