Last time I got the ashes was 2 years ago, mostly because of my kids. We're all Catholic here, but I have grown disconnected to the church for some time.

I grew up in a catholic community, St. Ann Mo but don't recall seeing the ashes on ppls foreheads as a kid.
So years later in New Orleans, I go to work after Mardi Gras and there's one of my co-workers with this dirty smudge on her face and being a gentleman I mentioned it to her so she wouldn't be walking around with it all day.
She had a sense of humor and a laf.
