I do not, because someone did it to me once, and I haaaaated it!
I said 'species' and I pronounced it 'spee-sees'. The corrector told me it was supposed to be 'spee-shees'.
I don't know what is right.
Here at work, this girl said the suit grooms wear at weddings is a 'tuck'. We did not correct her, that it is a 'tux'.
Oh well.

If it was just me and another person I would, and would not mind learning a proper way to pronounce a word.
But never in a group - that should be considered impolite and causes hard feelings.
The English language is very difficult and illogical - so you have to hear words pronounced because you cannot decipher them by spelling (ghoti = fish)
So many ppl, especially with English as a second language may need help with pronunciation. I work with many who will ask if they pronounced the word correctly.

I've been known to call attention to typos I think are funny but I don't correct the speech of people I don’t know unless they’ve mangled something so badly that I can’t understand them.

If they didn't totally fuck it up, then I don't bother.

Agreed. I'm not gonna do the ToMAYto/ToMAHto thing with people, but if they completely butchered the word then I will throw out the correct pronunciation.
