That's sad. She was looooong before my time, but I have been at several soap boards where long time OLTL who remember have raved about her original portrayal of Dorian.
She also looks very understatedly pretty in that picture.

Damn. It's kind of ironic that this is being reported now, just days after the news of Dixie Carter's passing, who subbed for Pinkerton as Dorian in the middle 70s. I really hope that the show acknowledges her with a picture at the end of an episode. Look at the character she created. It's just the right thing to do.

This sinks my heart. Though I was a very small child when she was on the show, I still vividly remember Pinkerton's startling frigid portrayal of Dorian. Back then the character was frankly scary, you did not know if she was going to greet you or kill you. I really wished she had gone on to more prominence in the soap world after leaving the show. She could have easily been an Emmy winner.

I agree Chris they should have a small tribute at the end of an episode but you think they would do it? I hope they do.

Because Dorian is such an icon in the world of soaps and because NP did create her, OLTL really SHOULD acknowlege her in some way.
There are so many vague rumors about what ABC does and doesn't have left of their soaps vintage 1970s episodes. If they have any episodes that feature NP as Dorian, I wish they'd run them on SOAPnet. Everyone who was around to witness her playing Dorian seems to have nothing but good things to say.

Those DTR episodes on YouTube are a real treasure. Too bad they feature NP's Dorian on her better behavior. If you didn't know any better, you'd think she was a friendly character. Those might be all that they have of her in their library, which would be a shame.
I've been long curious about what's left of OLTL's first decade on the air. A Wikipedia article speculates that two episodes from 1969, an episode from 1971, a few from 1973 and 1976 are all that exists before the show started archiving episodes with its hour long expansion in 1978. The others apparently were recorded on tapes that were reused. Agnes Nixon is said to have had some of the earlier episodes, but a fire allegedly destroyed her personal archive. Who knows? But yes...I really wish that on holidays, instead of reairing episodes from three months ago or whatever, they would rerun some of those classic/vintage episodes from yesteryear.
