Do you like babysitting?

When your friend or relative needs to take care of spur of the moment business for a few hours, or has to go out of town for a few days, how quick are you to volunteer to watch their kids?

If you're a parent, how liberal are you when it comes to letting other people watch your own kids?

I sometimes babysit my two year old nephew when my sister just needs time to do whatever she needs to do. It's fine, I enjoy his company. Last year her and her husband left him with me for almost a week, and let's just say that afterwards I was ready to go on the pill. He literally wore me out with his running. So much running.

I don't mind babysitting, but when I do it's pretty crazy, adding more to my five. Only family members have watched any of my kids and we usually split them up between different family members so it doesn't happen very often.

I don't mind babysitting the kids for a few hours here and there.

On the real, I like babies....so between the ages of infancy and like 2, I'll watch the kid for you. But you gotta get somebody else to watch that 6 year old. I can't deal with all their questions.

I don't mind babysitting if it's just one child, but I can't preside over a group of small children. I just shudder at the thought.

TOTAL . I'll watch him if you're just totally desperate, but you better make it quick....esp if he/she is a little hellraiser.

ha HA! im the opposite.. my thing is, as long as they are potty trained, an we can communicate, then im koo watchin the kids... i cant deal wit diapers, and cryin? no thanks.

I am very picky on who watches my son. I always have been, so when he was really young, it sucked because we rarely did anything that required a sitter.

As far as helping out a friend, I don't mind it too much. One thing that was odd this winter was that the neighbor asked me if I could watch her baby while her husband drove her to work. (the roads were bad) I said sure then she went to get the baby and came back with a bottle and formula and said she needed to eat. I wondered why she hadn't fed her prior. Then the next time, she asked if I could watch her when the roads were bad so she wouldn't have to drive her to the grandparents' house. It was 2 and she said her husband would be here by 2:30. But he came at 4:42. So, I am hoping she just misspoke with saying 2:30 and that they didn't take advantage of me.
