In general, do you like remixes? How do you feel about a song that, in it's original form, was a slow/mid-tempo song being turned into a club/dance remix?

^^ Like that particular one in general, I don't like. But there have been remixes that are just as good, if not better, than the original.

I think I probably like the Jay-Z better. Was never really a fan of Mya though, so I'm bent on either.

Remixes usually tend to be really, really bad. I don't think you can write an entirely different house/techno beat with no melody, insert a song's chorus two times over the course of nine minutes, and then call it a remix. Madonna remixes are notorious for that.
If it's a remix, I like it to be a real remix. Duran Duran for me were mastering of mixing their own stuff. Night Versions from the 80s were insanely good. Early Janet mixes were great, too.
