Converting Homosexuals? There's an Apple app for that!

Apple has approved an app by Exodus International designed to be a quick resource to those converting homosexuals and those under-going conversion.

Not surprisingly there is a petition to have the app removed from the iTunes Stores.

Maybe I'm being insensitive but apps have to be downloaded, they're not forced on anybody. Instead of petitioning to get it removed, just don't download it. If enough people reject the app., Apple will drop it because it won't produce any revenue for them.

I agree. People are babies to get upset over this.

And they seriously got an app for this? They need to come out with an app to mute all politicians.

If people are stupid enough to believe that such a thing is possible, then they deserve to lose their money on a useless product!

Sure they are wasting their money. (Although I kind of feel pricey apps are kind of a waste of money in general, but that's beside the point) But it's hardly going to break the bank so I doubt they'd learn anything.

What lesson? It's a stupid app. I'm not the one who thinks that the principle of paying a few bucks for something that won't work is somehow a "punishment." The only lesson to learn here is how apps aren't really all that.

Of course that's what your lesson would be. Not that gays can't be "converted" or that a company shouldn't be promoting that gays be converted, your lesson from that is that "apps aren't really all that". How enlightened your perspective is!

Why should my lesson be gays can't be converted? We're talking about an APP! Therefore, my lesson would be about an APP! If I wanted to teach a lesson about not being able to convert gays, I wouldn't focus on teaching it to people putting any stock in the power of an APP!

Because the topic of discussion was about a SPECIFIC APP, the reason attention is being called to THAT specific APP and WHY there is a petetiOn to have said APP removed! It's not about "an APP", but that fact has apparently gone over your head (or that's what you want us to believe so that you don't have to justify a homophobic position). Either way, it's pretty weak!

So you say...NOW, after all that, when you probably could have said that first and prevented this discussion in the beginning. But of course all of that would depend on you actually caring about being perceived as homophobic and since you don't that completely explains why you neglected to mention that before.

I never prejudge anyone. I JUDGE people based on what they say and do (big difference). I have nothing against, Christians, Muslims, Gays, Straights, Conservatives or Democrats. The people who believe that any of these groups have an agenda are the ones who are prejudice and the people who think that any views that come out of that group are inherently wrong or worth tossing aside because of where they came from are the ones that are prejudice. But interestingly enough, your responses to most of my comments today remind me a little kid (albiet for very different reasons). Good to know that we think alike on some level eh.

And the part about a petition to remove an app that can drive your car from being an option comes into play where exactly? I'm pretty sure the OP would have entitled it "Crazy Apps" if the intention was to discuss "crazy apps" instead of "Converting Homosexuals". Linking us to a petition to have a particularly offensive app removed suggests otherwise. Just sayin...
