Ladies, would you date a bisexual man?!

If after you have been on a few dates he admitted to you that he was bi, would you continue with the relationship?

If he were upfront about it, I could see casual "dating" being fine. I'd probably have some reservations about it developing into anything long term though. I'd be too paranoid that he was really gay and just using me for cover, or that at some point during the course of our relationship, he might get a sudden urge for what I wasn't built to give him (to put it mildly.)
Don't get me wrong, I think gays are great...but when it comes to dating overall I think homosexuals should date homosexuals...heterosexuals should date heterosexuals...and bisexuals should date bisexuals. Mixing it up seems like it could be asking for some trouble.

No. Not knowingly anyway. It's like CatEyes said, that's a huge can of worms I would rather not open.
Besides, why would anyone want to be with someone who they can't fully satisfy?

This might sound narrow-minded, but I don't like the idea of being with a man who likes dick as much as I do. Sorry but I would have to decline that invite.

^ But "dick" is grand! Who can resist?
On the serious side tho
WHY fault a guy for his orientation? I'm not bi. I'm gay. But I don't like the assumptions & discrimination bi's face. A bi guy can be as into women as a non-dick loving str8 guy can be. I mean if he's bi then that doesn't mean he doesn't like pussy (hey, she got to say DICK!!! lol) and if yours is good then it should be enough to temper his interest in men as it would other women!

I'm a heterosexual woman and I'd have no problem dating a bisexual man. Why the hell not? I'm surprised the people on this thread are so stuffy! Anyway, if I were involved with a bisexual man, I think it'd be a pretty wild time!

Except if you'd ever think he was cheating on you, you'd have twice as much stuff to worry about. And how low below the belt would that be to have your husband leave you for another man?

If I were married to a bisexual man, it would definitely hurt if he left me - but it wouldn't hurt more if he left for me for a man than for a woman. Supernova, I think you have some closet homophobia going on.

Straights don't marry gays and that's not being homophobic, and the bi area is still a very gray one because you have people arguing over if bi people even really are or if there IS just gay or straight. I have no interest in marrying at all, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to marry a guy I'd have to worry about being left because I'm not man enough for him. Maybe that kind of stress is okay with you, but that wouldn't work for me.

yeah, I would date him, but there wouldn't be a future in my opinion. I know it is totally assuming of me, and even discriminatory, but I don't think a bi-sexual male would ever want to settle down with me.

Wow what an interesting old thread that just got bumped into my view. Since I am identified as bi for many decades here is my take on the question:
Yes, we are discriminated against by many in the polar opposites. It bothers me more that I have had gay men challenge my sexual identity. No, I am not a closet gay guy. Yes, I do like pussy, tho for years by default I have only been with guys, but that is a matter of convenience, guys are just easy.
Wow. If I weren't so old I might ask you out. (Yes, it would also be a wild time if I were younger). When I first came out as bi in 1970 I hung out with the counter culture crowd and all types were accepted. Plus the French Quarter was a gay place to be.
I was involved in community work and we were at a bar drinking with one of the social worker types (business suit). She hit on me and took me to her place. She seemed so surprised that I made a move on her - she refered to me being gay. I told her I was bi, which means I fuck women too. (We did fuck - it coulda been her private kink fantasy game).
Oh yes they do! My wife of two decades was str8. She knew I was bi from the beginning. I have pics of my partner Jim in my family foto album. She was quite open because her fav brother was gay. Brenda and I had wild, romping, screaming sex during our time together. I coulda passed for str8, but never lied.
The grey area that bi's create is that we sorta skewer that genetic born gay stuff. If I really get off on pussy I can't be gay. If I really get off on cock I can't be str8. My opinion is that everyone has the capability to be bi and are by one degree or another. It is a bell curve graph that shows this, with str8 and gay on both sides and the middle swells with degrees of 'preference.'

So many closed minds in this thread.
My last boyfriend was bisexual and as honest as they come. And no, he didn't ask if he could sleep with women while we were dating.

I think a bisexual man is 2x more likely to cheat. I can tame his urge for other women, but there's no way I can compete when he gets a hankering for men and really I'm not interested in slaying that part of him. I need my man to like women strictly and exclusively.

Most women are bisexual to some degree or another, yet men date them, marry them and aren't scared they are going to run off with another woman. Why do you think that is? Why is it okay for women to be bisexual but decide to be in a committed relationship with a man, but it's impossible for a bisexual man to do the same? What is this double standard that everyone knows about, acknowledges and freely accepts as truth?Nhaiyel wrote:No. Not knowingly anyway. So basically, you're saying that all men are likely to cheat in general and that him being bisexual makes him twice as likely as the average man to cheat? Sounds more like a trust/committment issue there to me. If you honestly love somebody and someone else loves you, is there for you and provides for you, they're is no reason to cheat on them. Being bisexual has little to do with sexual gratification or a necessity to fill various needs, and more to do with being openly attracted to PEOPLE regardless of gender. Just because that "attraction" is sexual in nature, doesn't mean that a person who is bisexual is going to take any and every oppertunity to be with every Tom, Jane and Harry out there! All it means is that they don't discriminate. When people fall in love, they fall in love with the person. Not their penis or their vagina! Any PERSON who decides to be in a committed relationship has decided just that. And if you don't trust someone just because they are bisexual, then it means your level of TRUST in a potential mate is dependent on their sexuality. Does that make any sense to you?Angel wrote:I think a bisexual man is 2x more likely to cheat. Agreed.
I don't think I would have a problem dating a bisexual man. I'm far less concerned about his sexual preferences than about his integrity and stability as a human being. A monogamous relationship is a monogamous relationship.
