I don't want kids. I made that decision a long time ago and haven't wavered from it with age, but I haven't pursued sterilization because most of the relationships I've been in have been with women who knew this about me and were decent enough to not try and test this stipulation. If I ever get married, I would consider it but as of now I'm content with just taking necessary precautions.

Nope. My "macho BS mentality" statement was in reference to someone who could be 100 years old and still want to be able to father children even though he doesn't want children. During my years of working in family medicine, I've encountered more than one guy who thought he was less of a man if he didn't shoot actual sperm in his ejaculate. That's ludicrous, and yes, I do make a personal judgement against people who think that way, because it makes them sound like cavemen.
FWIW, when most people talk about birth control, they are referring to hormones. That's the common vernacular. I don't know too many guys who call condoms "birth control." "Hey, I have to run to Rite Aid and buy some birth control...." Nope, nobody says that. When a woman says she's going to get on birth control, she's not usually referring to a diaphragm, either.
As for the rest of your post, I can see that you aren't going to own your offensive words, writing them off as a joke or plain misunderstanding on my part.
Yes, different strokes for different folks. I said before (repeatedly, I think) that if someone is unsure as to whether they want more kids, they should not become sterilized. There are many people who are sure they do not want to procreate and can't wait to get the operation so they no longer have to concern themselves with "birth control" or possible unwanted pregnancy....even if they have ZERO children.

See....this doesn't sound like "I don't want kids." This sounds like "I don't want kids right now."

Keyword. And so what? He wants to be able to because biologically, he is able to. In case you haven't noticed, men and women ARE NOT biologically the same. Nature says a man can reproduce well into his 80's and beyond. Women can't. What's 'macho' about wanting to be able to do what nature says you can do? Like Marc said, there is nothing wrong with not wanting a part of your body to be permantely stifled.

It is not a bullshit mentality to be able to do something nature says that you're able to do.

Guess you don't know too many guys. Or women. Birth control is birth control. Unless you're somehow gonna tell me that condoms or the diaphragm are not birth control.

I own everything I say. You need me to elaborate on anything? You're 'offended' by me saying that getting 'fixed' is what you do to dogs, but you have no problem admitting that you make your own personal judgements towards people who have a different line of thinking concerning this matter than you do?

I don't disagree with that. But I PERSONALLY wouldn't do it. Again I ask, why do you fail to see the reason in why people who know they don't want children and still wouldn't go through with the procedure? You're acting like it should be mandatory for everybody who *know* doesn't want kids to go and get snipped right away. That's bull.
