Do you like help when you cook, or would you rather go at it alone?

You supervise the pasta, I'll bake the sweet potato pie.

Alone for the most part. I personally know I don't care to help anyone else cook. Like during my familys' Thanksgiving dinners. Just too many of us in that kitchen. Cut up the greens, snap them raggedy ass peas, mix the mac and cheese, make the fillings for the pies. I ain't got time for all that. I'll help you eat it though.

For everyday meals which aren't very complicated it's either my wife or I doing the cooking and the other one cleans up. For larger meals that require more prep we'll both get involved.

I like to cook alone, and then have someone else wash the dishes!

I like the way you think!
I don't like others messing around in my kitchen, even my close friends. It is annoying to me, and probably is one of my only-child traits.

Re: "Too many cooks in the kitchen"
Other people only get in the way if you know what you're doing and how you would like your food prepared. A second cook will either be clueless and botch up the smallest things, or worst you will get that person who thinks they know better than you how much flower or seasoning should go into what's being made.

Re: "Too many cooks in the kitchen"
Yeah, best be alone. Cooking is more art than science and two artists working on the same painting won't work either.
I usually take over the kitchen when in a relationship. My wife did not cook. In fact when I first started sleeping over at her place I took over the kitchen and it wasn't even hers (she was staying with her sister who is an excellent cook who does more daring stuff in the kitchen than me). But after we got our own place I was the Chef.

Alone. The kitchen isn't that big & I hate bumping into people every minute.

If I want my food prepared a specific way, then leave me alone and let me do it.

Alone. Cooking isn't particularly one of my fun hobbies, so if you start hovering around the kitchen while I'm preparing, then you can take over and I'll go have a seat.

Re: "Too many cooks in the kitchen"
My kitchen's way too tiny for even two people to prepare comfortably. And, no matter how many people he's cooking for, my husband orders everyone to stay OUT of his kitchen while he's cooking. He doens't want the crowding or distraction.
