Room by Emma Donoghue

Has anybody read this novel? I got it from the library a couple of days ago, just opened it tonight...I couldn't get past the first few pages...I get that this kid has spent his whole life in an enclosed space and really doesn't know anything but I can't get around how he talks. He knows what all the pieces of art on the wall are but doesn't know there's no word as forgotted, and thinks the furniture is divided into hims and hers.


I never like admitting it when I don't finish a book or barely get into it, but right off the bat this one did nothing for me. Anybody else familiar with it?
