Do you recycle?

Does your town mandate that you recycle? Do they make you go so far as separating different color glass or do all the bottles and cans go in the same bin?

I must be on some psychic wavelength with the people here because I was going to ask the same question.


The center here demands everything be separate, soda cans from tin cans, newspapers and plastic, but plastic doesn't have to be separated by color vs. clear.


We did not have a center for a long time, the center closed, and we had to throw out everything with the rest of the trash and we went through SO much more trash that way, a bag or two a day with all the cans and papers and bottles, so I'm VERY glad we can just bag it all up and take it to the center now.

I do but it's glass, plastic & aluminum all in the same bin here. You have to take cardboard to the recycling center yourself.

we have two containers, dk brown is for trash, that gets picked up tuesday mornings, the green is for recycle that gets picked up on thursdays. im guessin they separate everythin at the recycle place too, like shale said.

Yes, I (we) do. At home, I have three bins. Plastic, paper and bio.

The city has 4 containers. Black for everything except bio, yellow for plastic, blue for paper and brown for bio.

For glasses, we have green containers for colored glasses and white for clear glasses. For ceramics we also have other container. It's brown, if I am not mistaken.

I recycle everything I can other than compost but that's mainly because my apartment doesn't have one. I live in a community in which recycling is HUGE!!!!

Absolutely! While stationed in WA, there were 3 bins. Plastic, aluminum and cardboard. We weren't allowed to recycle glass. Here in FL, everything is mixed into one bin. Once again so glass though

Yep. Get a ticket if you don't. I don't have to recycle by color though.

I do recycle, but I don't know if it's a mandate around here.
