Could You Live Without a Computer?

If your motherboard blew out completely to the point where it couldn't be fixed....how soon would you go out and buy a new computer?

I could live without a computer but since I have a lot of different accounts set up that require a computer I would go out and buy a new one immediately. Besides, how am I going to enjoy stimulating conversation if I can't get on here???

^This, and besides, email is the only way I can keep in contact with one friend of mine who I'm always only too happy to hear from.

I agree....I couldn't make due w/o my PC for longer than a week. I'd go nuts not being able to log on to my various shit and read my email, messages, etc. I'd be like a wayward son without connection to his daddy.

My computer completely broke down on me like that four years ago. I went to turn it on and two seconds later it abruptly shut down and there was zero power. I took it to the shop and they pointed out that one of the tubes on the board had leaked and so it couldn't be fixed. For nearly two weeks I had to go without a computer, then on my payday I went straight over to CompUSA and bought a new one. I can't be without a computer, too much of my life is online. I have to have an email address for work.

Prob. like a week or two later, solely because laptops are cheap now and I know I would be able to get a good deal on one. But not because I couldn't survive without it. I'd get by. My motherboard was shot last year. I would just log on at the library and I could only get a hour a day. I good deal to get it replaced so I went ahead and replaced it......but did it like a month later because I wanted to take it to various places to see who would replace it the cheapest.

Are the stores still open?

The very next day if I had the money, no longer than a week if I didn't. I couldn't properly function without a computer for an extended period of time. Just couldn't.

it would be a VERY long time before i could afford another laptop. could i live without it yes, i made it thru my first 27 yrs of life without a computer. im sure ill manage.

id be more bummed bout losing my music and not being able to make any cds.

I've had computers go out on me twice and had a replacement within days. Strangely, I lived for 50 years before getting my first and now my life pretty much logs on several times a day.

I lived without computer for more than 4 months (the power supply was busted and so was the motherboard) and without internet for 6 months. I think I can live without computer a bit longer. I know, I am a masochist.

What I will miss is the tool for writing. I can use typewriter, but it's damn difficult to find the ribbon these days.

Probably a couple of weeks, maybe a month, but I'd need to be checking stuff at work and I don't always get around to it. I'd need to check my work accounts every couple of days or so but if I could do that at work, I could live without it for longer than a couple of weeks, though I'd miss it.

I need a computer at my disposal. Without one i couldn't charge my iPod, read my email and worst of all it would put a serious damper on my inspiration to

Yes you could. I never charge my iPod on my comp. Now, if the question asked how soon I would go out an buy a new iPod if mine was shot......the answer is 10 mins later. I would haul ass to the Apple Store quickfast.
