Can't remember. I thought it was "Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em" by MC Hammer, but now that I think about it, I know I've owned cassettes before that because I had a walkman when I was like 6 yrs old.

The first that was actually mine, and not my parents, was New Edition's N.E. Heartbreak.

I think it was the self-titled Steppenwolf.

Casette tape and it was New Kids on the Block. I think it might have been Hangin' Tough but I think I also bought a couple at the same time, so it might have been their first album.

For my 7th birthday my parents bought me 3 albums (cassettes) by NKOTB: their self-titled debut, Hangin' Tough and their Xmas album.

Hush. I was only 7.

I've owned albums that were given to me by my parents, but the first album I ever bought personally was "Never Gonna Let You Go" by Vicki Sue Robinson. (1976) The first 45 I ever bought was "Love Don't Go Through No Changes On Me" by Sister Sledge. (1974)
