    Not talking about a mere watch in your area, but rather a tornado or hurricane narrowly sweeping down in your actual neighborhood?

    During the big one of '92 a tornado came down and literally twisted our house apart, caught the chimney and spun it all around from there. It took us a while to rebuild it, we'd all been down in the basement when it first hit, my mother went up to get the dog and the wind pulled her clear over to the window and would've sucked her out had she not ran into the radiator. But the insurance companies wrote it off as just a straight wind so they didn't have to pay for any damages.

    Uhhh, can't say that I have. Other than the hurricane like winds and rain that we had last year that was the Nor'easter. That was the most wind and rain I've experienced in my life.

    Never a tornado (but the chance is there again tonight in Missouri)

    Several hurricanes tho. Camille in 1969 tore up Mississippi where I was. Katrina hit Florida before devastating New Orleans. Wilma knocked out all the lights but wasn't such a big blow - slept thru it overnight. There were a couple others that just blew rain in sideways but no real damage and I slept thru them.
