From what you've seen and/or observed, do you think most racists know that they are in fact racist?

I would think so...despite how much some like to front about it.

Some probably do but others will never admit to themselves that they are.

I think by now they know that other people think they're racist but don't care because they "know" what they believe is true. To quote from The Notebooks of Lazarus Long, "Your enemy is never a villain in his own eyes. Keep this in mind; it may offer a way to make him your friend. If not, you can kill him without hate--and quickly." I'm not saying I condone homocide though.

I was going to say what Alan said. They "know" that they are superior and other races are inferior, so it's not as if they are going to attach a negative label to it.

Not only do they know they are racist, what is worse, is they are proud of it.

If I say their attitudes are nasty or I don't like that kind of talk, they get mad, and say I am overly politically correct.

For the most part, yes.
