The parents already can't be everywhere to make sure their kids AREN'T drinking, most people who drink start at age 14, and that's usually WITHOUT the parents' being around to watch them do it and also WITHOUT the parents letting it be permissable, so how is them actually being there and knowing what their kid is involved with going to make the situation worse?

an adult "supervising" a 14 year old taking drugs. It ain't that serious. It'd be different if this were about it being a celebratory glass of wine at some one-off, "special occasion" wedding or whatever. But if we're talking about parents allowing their kids to have a beer or shots of Hennessy at home on any random day of the week for any random reason, then hell no. They can wait until their of drinking age....but of course most people don't, but just because most people don't doesn't mean that the law needs to be bent to accommodate them on it. Kids don't get to do what adults do, "alcohol and Acne do not mix."
