There are hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, scorpions, tarantulas, rabbit & hedgehogs here right now. Gerbils at one time. But never a rat. I just...can't. Not ever.

i have a story..
one night after a house party, me an couple frends went back to this chics house, where we kicked a lil while longer..now it was a pretty small apt. i sat down in this chair, next to this pretty big box lookin thing that was covered with a blanket. she gave me a drink, and thats where i placed it. now after awhile, she was like "oh do you wanna see my pet?" i was like sure. she removed the blanket an there was this BIG ASS RAT!! i screamed, 'HOLY SHIT"!, and jumped from a sitting position straight on to her table, and bam threw my drink (it was in a glass cup) at the fuckin rat cage. now i am in no way athletic so my jumpin like that was from me being scared as FUCK!!, anyway, she gets pissed at me for throwin my drink at her "pet", kicks me out and apparantly wanted to kick my ass. i just talked shit back to her sayin that was no fuckin pet!!
ugh, that happened prolly bout 5 years ago..shit wasnt cool on my end, i am deathly afraid of rats.. but she didnt know that, but still, i couldnt help my reaction.

I've had gerbils, hamsters and mice. Would like to have a rat but that would be a problem when I took several weeks trip. Who would take care of it?
There is a Gambian Pouch Rat that gets to be 9 pounds. I could put it in a small dog harness and take it for a walk.
Would make a nice pet except they are illegal now in South Florida. Seems, just like the Iguana and boas they can live here and have escaped on one of our keys. They are trying to keep them from the mainland.

In Detroit, rats don't mean "pets," they mean poverty. There's no way. Ever since I saw the movies WILLARD and BEN, I have been deathly afraid of those creatures myself. Don't even fuck with me about a rat. Them bitches ain't pets.

I've wanted a pet rat for years. I really want a black rat, but they're hard to find. We agreed on no more pets until I'm done with school. The cats are enough to take care of.
My husband's aunt has a pet rat and she is the sweetest little creature! She's tan and white and cuddles you like a small dog would.
