Take this with a grain of salt, but I heard that Nate is supposed to beat Matthew to a pulp, putting him in the hospital hemorrhaging between life and death. Meanwhile Clint is actually going to die. In the aftermath of Clint's death, Matthew will receive one of his organs. It all sounds far fetched, but with these writers and the show ending soon, who knows how extreme they will go for story.
