New shoe trend...ugly or cute?

I am just posting the link, as you would have to see them to know what I am talking about. They are the new running shoes that have "toes" at the foot of the shoe.

I wonder the merits of these for runners? Not sure. They seem fugly to me.

Oh great, socks on steroids...it'll be interesting to hear if they fit people any better and the comfort's any greater than with regular shoes but those aren't just ugly, they're downright creepy.

I think it does take away from the companies who preach that a high end running shoe is the best for performance due to support.

I am sick of expensive shoes. I liked having name brand shoes, and always have. But my son told me of a classmate having $170 Nikes. That is insane to me unless he is in the NBA. Kids' feet change so much, that to pay that much would never happen in this house.

Since my son's tastes have exceeded my comfort zone, he now pays for them with his shoveling money and lawn mowing money.

Eh, they're prob. comfortable as hell....but I'll pass. I wouldn't rock those at all.

As soon as I can, I plan to try on a pair. I feel like my toes get hot enough during exercise, I can't imagine each one being confined like that.

Plus, a marketing blunder with these has to be that the average joe trying on a pair doesn't come with the required toe socks. So, I wonder if stores will have the little nylon booties with separated toes?

They're not really that new. They're basically a compromise to running barefoot. As the article states, some think that style of running - more on the ball of the foot instead of the heel - is more natural and will result in fewer injuries. It's called Chi running. They're not intended for everyday wear.

I think they're ugly!!!!! I also think they'd drive my crazy,. when the toe-sock trend was in, I bought a few pairs but they weren't the most comfortable, so I can't imagine how much worse these toe shoes would be. I'll stick with my current running shoes, though I do agree that the prices need to come down. That's why i shop outlet or HUGE sales. Haven't paid full price for a pair in years and I don't plan to. I try and get them at least half off.

OMG yes I have seen those and they are OoOoOogly. I saw a guy at the gym working out in a a pair of those toe shoes.

Those things are very ugly and look more like slippers than shoes.

I saw a guy wearing them a few days ago. Tres fugly!

LOL Red my friends in LA were wearing them already last summer. I don't like them.

I've seen those before, and they are hideous. There's no way I'd ever. I'd sooner wear my sandals without socks than try and sport those things.
