The President's Analyst Empty The President's Analyst

Anyone see this kind of psychedelic romp from 1967? James Coburn plays a psychiatrist who winds up with the POTUS as his patient and because of what he knows (or everyone thinks he knows) he becomes a target for just about everyone. The great Godfrey Cambridge is in it. He's a CIA agent who also is a patient and there's a scene in the beginning where he tells of something from his childhood. Very poignant.

The President's Analyst Empty The Day of the Jackal (1973)

Post by Alan Smithee Thu May 12, 2011 9:55 pm

NOT The Jackel with Bruce Willis and Richard Gere! This is based on the Frederick Forsyth novel about an assasination attempt on French Pres. Charles de Gaulle in 1963(?). I could see where this movie wouldn't be for everyone for a number of reasons. Such as it's so low tech. When they finally get a lead on The Jackel's identity they have to physically collect hotel registry cards to check for his name. No computers. It makes you wonder how any crimes were solved. Anyway, both The Jackel and the French police inspector in charge of catching him are both pretty cunning.
