If someone came out with a car engine that ran on cheap energy like water or the Earth's electromagnetic field so that you payed nothing or next to nothing to fuel it - BUT - it's top speed was 50 MPH. Would you buy it?

Where we live we barely ever go past 45 so I think that'd work fine.

Damn Str8! I currently get around the city on a bicycle at 12 MPH, so it would be no problem in urban areas, even if the top speed was 40 MPH (Actually a good restriction for the idiot speeders).

I could even see a hiway trip at 50 MPH - like take old US hiways instead of being frustrated on the Interstates.

Depends. I'd consider it maybe.

I might keep it for going to and from work, but it would only work if I never left the city. I'd keep my current car for longer trips.

I don't know, I imagine driving on the highway in such a car would become annoying.

It would have to sell for at least moderately cheap for me to consider it.
