TV characters that disappeared

Did you watch any show that had a character that got less and less air time util they were just gone and no one even made any reference to them? I don't mean they re-cast the part (like Becky on Roseanne) or they were written out and everyone knew about it. If you didn't watch Happy Days until after the first couple of seasons, you might not know that Richie and Joanie had an older brother Chuck. He was a college student so he wasn't around much to begin with but by about the second season everyone just stopped talking about him.

I know Life with Bonnie is a relatively unknown example but I remember that between the first and second (which turned out to be the last I think) season, they just totally forgot that she had a daughter. She was gone with zero explanation or reference. I think this has happened other times too, especially on soaps. But I guess since I watched limited TV shows, I dont have many examples.

I think the most famous one of all is Judy Winslow from Family Matters.


Also, if you can count him as a character, Tiger from The Brady Bunch.

And I don't think she disappeared completely but there were plenty of Kenan and Kel episodes where Kyra was not around.

Buzz and Sonya on Mama's Family.
Lamont and Donna on Sanford.
Brenda on 90210.

Oh yeah and also Betty White's character on Mama's Family, they moved out and Bubba and Iola moved in.


Also, on Boy meets World, Minkus and Turner disappeared though Minkus returned once at the graduation episode.

Carl from Good Times, Florida's 2nd husband, after she came back from her Arizona honeymoon it was like he never existed, which was fine with me but still....
